Modi mourns over Gen Bipin Rawat’s death, says he worked hard to make India self-reliant

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the entire country has witnessed Gen Bipin Rawat, India’s first Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), work to make the country’s forces self-reliant.

Despite the fact that the country is in mourning, the Prime Minister stated that “Even when we are in grief, we do not slow down or stop moving forward. India will not be deterred “.

“Gen Bipin Rawat’s India will be pushing forward with new resolutions in the days ahead. Work on boosting the country’s border security and strengthening border infrastructure will continue, “he added.

He stated that medics are attempting to save the life of Group Captain Varun Singh, a Deoria local “who is a son of Uttar Pradesh.” “I beg God to spare his life.” “Today, the nation is with Varun Singh’s family, as well as the families of the heroes we have lost,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.

He said this in Balrampur, Uttar Pradesh, at the launch of the Saryu Nahar National Project.

Those in attendance were Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.

One of the government’s main concerns, according to the Prime Minister, is proper utilization of the country’s rivers’ water and adequate water reaching farmers’ fields. “The completion of the Saryu Canal National Project demonstrates that honest thinking leads to strong work.”

According to the Prime Minister, “In less than five years, we completed more work on the Saryu canal project than in five decades. This is a government with two engines. This is the double-engine government’s work speed… our top objective is to complete the project on schedule.”

“Why should I care if it’s government money? This way of thinking had become the most significant impediment to the country’s balanced and all-around development. This way of thinking also stalled the Saryu canal project.”

Long-delayed projects such as the Baan Sagar Project, the Arjun Sahayak irrigation project, AIIMS, and the fertilizer plant in Gorakhpur were all finished by the BJP’s double engine government in the Center and in the state of Uttar Pradesh, according to Modi.

As an illustration of the government’s dedication, he referenced the Ken Betwa Link project. The project, worth Rs 45,000 crore, was authorized at the most recent Cabinet meeting.

The Prime Minister also stated that, unlike in the past, when the mafia was protected, the mafia is now being wiped out, and the difference can be seen.

“Strongmen had previously been promoted. CM Adityanath’s government is currently working to empower the underprivileged, disadvantaged, backward, and tribal peoples. That is why the people of the United States of America say, “The difference is visible.” Previously, the mafia’s illegal possession of the land was the norm, but today, CM Yogi is using a bulldozer to clear such encroachment.”

On Wednesday, Gen Bipin Rawat, his wife, and 11 other armed forces personnel were killed in an Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper crash near Coonoor, Tamil Nadu.

Several politicians paid tribute to the CDS and his wife, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, and DMK leaders A Raja and Kanimozhi, among others. Gen Bipin Rawat, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), was put to rest with full military honours at Brar Square cremation in the Delhi cantonment on Friday. General Rawat received a 17-gun salute at his funeral, which was attended by 800 service personnel, as per protocol. Rawat’s and Madhulika’s last rituals were administered by his daughters Kritika and Tarini.
